§ 8-1. Municipal court established.

A municipal court is hereby established pursuant to section 21-23-1 et seq. of the Mississippi Code of 1972 as amended. Wherever, the words, "police court" or "police justice" appears in the municipal charter or ordinances, they shall mean municipal court and municipal judge, respectively. The municipal court shall be a separate department within the City of Yazoo City and shall be governed by this Code, other ordinances of the city and state law.
