§ 2-10. City attorney; appointment, term, salary, duties.

  • The city attorney shall be appointed by the governing body as authorized by state law on the second Monday in April each year, and shall serve until a successor is appointed. She shall receive compensation of $1,050.00 per month, payable monthly. She shall serve as the regular city attorney and attend all regular and special meetings of the governing body as required, and advise the governing body. As authorized by state law, the board of mayor and aldermen may establish additional compensation for such city attorney for additional services and duties assigned.
