§ 16-2. Condition of bonds of city officers.

Latest version.

The bonds of all city officers who are required to give bond shall be made payable to the city and be conditioned as follows:
"Whereas, The above bound _______ was duly elected (or appointed) to the office of _______, on the _______ day of _______, 19___, for the term of _______ from the _______ day of _______; therefore, if he shall faithfully perform all the duties of said office during his continuance therein, then the above obligation to be void; otherwise to remain in full force and virtue."

This provision shall be considered as directory only, and the failure to observe the form above prescribed shall not vitiate any official bond.
